This is my best experience with journals ever. The area editor sought reviewers 6 days after submission. The R&R was processed in 1 day, and the final decision reached in 2. In the final decision, the area editor kindly pointed out 4 typos. I am extremely grateful to the area editor for not citing this as a reason to reject the paper, something that happened to me in the past in another journal (despite reviewers commenting on how good my writing was). I think this really indicates how friendly this journal is to second-language speakers.

Accept + Major Revisions = Reject ...

Originally an R&R with positive reviewer comments. After one round of revision, a referee wanted a few additional changes (largely based on new concerns), and Ergo decided to reject outright because, so they claim, they don't do multiple rounds of revision for some unfathomable reason. Authors can't do anything to prevent reviewers from raising additional concerns post-revision, and Ergo has apparently decided that this should absolutely preclude authors from publishing, after they have poured *hours* into revising and responding carefully to referee comments? Very frustrating.
