Waited 9 months. The report was almost verbatim a report I had previously waited 8 months for at a different journal. Editorial staff only responded to my emails selectively.

The review was not unfriendly but fairly short and unhelpful. It contained a number of misunderstandings of the text and of the literature in general. For example, it attributed views to various authors that do not have support in their texts. Moreover, my submission was handled by an associate editor who has little knowledge of the field.
